Donation Acceptance Policies
Donation Acceptance Policy
Jewish Voice for Peace Leadership and Culture Lab (JVP Lab) solicits and accepts donations that are consistent with our mission and that support our core programs, as well as affiliated special projects. Monetary donations and in-kind donations will generally be accepted from individuals, partnerships, foundations, or other entities, provided we have general reason to believe they were given in good will, from an origin source consistent with our values and mission, and do not overly burden organizational capacity to accept. In-kind donations must be pre-approved by a member of JVP Lab senior leadership.
Certain types of donations must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special liabilities they may pose for Jewish Voice for Peace Leadership and Culture Lab. Examples of donations which will be subject to review include gifts of real property, personal property, or securities.
Restrictions on Gifts
JVP Lab will not accept gifts that (a) would result in JVP Lab’s violating or losing its status as an IRS 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organization, (b) are too difficult or too expensive to administer in relation to their value, (c) would result in any unacceptable consequences for JVP Lab or (d) are for purposes outside JVP Lab’s mission. Decisions on the restrictive nature of a gift, and its acceptance or refusal, shall be made by the Executive Committee, in consultation with the Executive Director. This policy is not exhaustive and JVP Lab reserves the right to review, return, or decline any contribution at any time.
